Stand in front of the mirror
Grab a pair of scissors.
There is always an error
In the shimmer
And the glimmer,
Over time, the shine grows dimmer.

Today you are merry,
But what about tomorrow?
Such joy can turn to sorrow.
Thoughts and feelings are so bitter,
Craving for clothing to fit better.

Stand there and shudder; shiver,
Looking into silver,
Back at your own figure –

Your eyes expose a killer,
A sinner.
Today you look bigger,
Tomorrow you’ll be thinner.
Are you your own admirer,
Or the dark inquirer?
