Bongo’s Bingo’s at Canal Mills is one of Leeds most sought after nights out, continually selling out every week. With the doors opening at the early hour of 6pm and the event ending at 11.30 it is a great event to go to before heading out elsewhere or a perfect night out option if you are going to be busy the next day as you can be home by 12 – a definite winner in my eyes!
Although the event is based around a game of bingo, the night was made by the DJ and his two glamorous assistants. The two energetic, wig-wearing hosts really helped to get the atmosphere going, along with the great selection of prizes that were on offer! The lucky few were able to get their hands on some fabulous prizes including a cardboard cut-out of the legendary Gemma Collins (still quite upset we didn’t win her!), six litres of Lambrini, a giant inflatable rubber duck and of course the cash prize of up to £150 – money that would be very useful in paying towards the slightly over priced drinks. Although in true Bongo’s spirit, some of the prizes required a dance off – always very entertaining to watch!
The DJ played a great selection of music, from Come on Eileen by Dexys Midnight Runners to Beyoncé’s Crazy in Love. Let it Go from Disney’s Frozen was one that got everyone up and dancing on the benches and singing from the top of their lungs, a completely unforgettable experience! The music was too good to not get up and dance to and would appeal to people with all different music tastes.
There is always a great atmosphere at the Bingo with everyone up on their feet, dancing the night away on their benches – luckily there were only a small number of benches that collapsed this time! All in all, it was a very enjoyable night and, although we left empty handed, we had a great night and I would 100% recommend giving it a go!
