About Lippy Magazine
Well, where to start...
Lippy has existed as an independent publication since the 1970s, staying true to its feminist roots through its many incarnations. We've been booklet, pamphlet, we've been themed; we've been local, national, text-based or more visual. We've hosted the talent of many an editor, writer and photographer. But through it all we've remained unafraid of voicing raw opinion, tackling the controversial and providing an outlet for the thinking student body.
In past years themes have included Sex, Violence, Body and World issues. We aim to strike a balance between in-depth enquiry, personal rant and light-hearted copy.
Previously funded by the Union Exec Women's Officer, Lippy became an LUU society in 2007. As such, we're open to everyone with balls and enthusiasm. Boys, girls, gay, straight - whatever - get involved!
You can find us in print at LUU and various watering holes around campus and the LS6 area. Also making its debut this year is Lippy's swish new website, making us accessible to a world-wide readership and carrying our voices further afield! Each new issue will be up right here in full, alongside selected back issues and a regularly updated blog. And if you want to join in the debate, why not get talking on our forum?
So that's us. Pick us up, give us a read, and get Lippy!
